©️ Content & Copyright Policy

Who owns what you post, how we handle copyright and trademark complaints, and how to use Philiabit's own branding.

Effective 2026-07-20 Last updated 2026-07-20 Version 1.0 Applies to iOS & Android

At a glance

  • You own what you post — proof photos, stories, comments, and profile content stay yours.
  • By posting, you let Philiabit show your content to the audience your privacy settings allow, which is required for the app to work.
  • Don't post content you don't have the rights to — someone else's photo, music, or artwork without permission.
  • We respond to valid copyright takedown notices and will remove infringing content and, for repeat infringers, restrict accounts.
  • Philiabit's name, logo, and in-app artwork are protected — please don't reuse them without permission.

1 You own your content

You retain full ownership of the photos, videos, stories, comments, posts, and any other content you create and upload to Philiabit ("User Content"). We don't claim ownership of it, and we don't sell it to third parties.

2 The license you grant Philiabit

To make the Service work, you grant Philiabit a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content — but only to the audience allowed by your privacy settings, and only for the purpose of operating and improving Philiabit (for example, showing your proof photo to your peer-review group, or your public profile to other members if you've set it to Public).

This license ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to the retention exceptions described in our Privacy Policy and Account & Data Deletion pages (e.g., brief backups, or content already shared with a group as part of an approval history).

This license does not give Philiabit the right to sell your content, license it to advertisers, or use it in marketing outside the Service without asking you first.

3 Your responsibility when posting
  • Only upload content you created yourself, or that you have permission/rights to use (including music playing in the background of a proof video, if applicable).
  • Don't post another person's photo, likeness, or private information without their consent.
  • Don't upload content that infringes a third party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
  • If a challenge template, badge design, or in-app artwork inspires you, that's great — but don't copy it into your own competing product.
4 Reporting copyright infringement

If you believe content on Philiabit infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] including:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • The specific location of the allegedly infringing content (username, post/story link, or screenshot with context).
  • Your contact information (name, address, phone, email).
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

We review valid notices and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the reported content and notify the person who posted it. We may terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you can submit a counter-notice to [email protected] with a similarly detailed statement, and we'll follow applicable law in handling it.

5 Trademark complaints

If you believe someone is using a trademark you own in a way that's likely to cause confusion on Philiabit (e.g., a username or profile impersonating a brand), email [email protected] with details of your mark and the infringing use.

6 Using Philiabit's brand & content

The Philiabit name, logo, wordmark, app UI, badge/achievement artwork, and challenge templates are owned by Philiabit and protected by copyright and trademark law.

You're welcome to share screenshots of your own achievements, streaks, or profile for personal, non-commercial use (like sharing a milestone with friends). For press, partnership, or commercial use of our branding, contact [email protected] for permission and brand guidelines.
